Entry Requirements

Completion of year 12 of and Australian School System or equivalent is desirable, with a sound achievement in English, or, mature age students who demonstrate an interest in Beauty Therapy and an ability to apply themselves to the disciplines of study and training.

Student Recruitment

Students should demonstrate a strong desire to enter the industry. This inclination should have been with the student for some time.

Good communication skills and a warm personality.

Students should be confident, outgoing and be able to assume a professional image.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Learners who consider that they already possess some of the competencies required, shall be granted credit on substantiation of the competency. Application must be made in writing accompanied by all relevant documentation.

Certificates and Diplomas

Upon completion of a course, and after all academic, clinical, professional and financial requirements are met. A Certificate or Diploma will be issued free of charge. If a Certificate of Diploma is lost or damaged, a replacement can be provided at a cost of $20 for Certificates and $50 for a Diploma.

Work Experience

Upon successful completion of all the modules in the Diploma and prior to receiving the award a minimum of 100 hours work experience is required to be undertaken.

Assessment

Assessment will be competency based, in that the student will be required to demonstrate competency in each identified skill within the module.

Performance criteria are clearly stated within each Unit. A broad range of appropriate assessment strategies will be adopted to test knowledge, skill and attitudes, ability to solve problems and demonstration of management skills. There will be on-going assessments of written and practical work, assignments, study projects, end-of-module and end-of-course testing. Assessment will be rated as “Competent” or “Not Yet Competent”.

Refund Policy

Students may apply for a refund of the deposit or fees paid in advance if they withdraw two weeks prior to commencement of the course, a full refund may apply. A $50 administration fee will apply.

Appeals and Complaints

A comprehensive Appeals and complaints Policy is in place and will be discussed in detail at induction and is written in the Student Training Record Book.
